I love to travel and meet different places, unusual, visually appealing and this is one of these places. I never imagined that nature had naturally created a dune of more than 100 meters high, in France, close to home. Sometimes natures acts up. A desert between the sea and the forest.

The “Dune du Pylat” is a huge formation of coastal natural sand created thousands of years ago. As background, the forest where hectareas disappear each year by advancing the sandy ridge. Up to 100 meters and admire the scenery, is one of the things you have to do if you are traveling in south-western France, as we did back to home. It is a tourist place 365 days a year. In the photos you will see background people walking or climbing dune, but I think it deserves a summer visit, with better weather. I hope you enjoy the pictures and thanks for commenting!

Me encanta viajar y conocer lugares diferentes, inusuales, atractivos para la vista y éste, es uno de ellos. Nunca llegué a imaginar que la naturaleza hubiese creado de forma natural una duna de más de 100 metros de alto, en Francia, cerca de casa. Y es que la naturaleza hace de las suyas. Un desierto en entre el mar y el bosque.

La “Dune du Pylat” es una enorme formación de arena natural costera creada hace miles de años. Como trasfondo, está el bosque del cual cada año desaparecen varias hectáreas por el avance de la cresta arenosa. Subir los 100 metros y admirar el paisaje, es una de las cosas que tenéis que hacer si viajáis en sur-oeste de Francia, como hicimos nosotros de vuelta de Bordeaux. Es un lugar turístico los 365 días del año. En las fotos veréis gente de fondo paseando o subiendo la duna, pero creo que se merece una visita en verano, con mejor clima. Today I’m showing you a very special post. In our tour to Bordeaux, we made several stops, one of this in this so cool McDonald’s. This is an exact replica of the first McDonald’s opened in the United States. Besides it’s unique decor very 50’s, outside there is an original petrol pump from USA and beautiful ’58 Cadillac El Dorado. Its peculiarity is that is pink in honor of the pink Elvis Presley’s Cadillac. He loved these cars and decided to paint it in pink. Too bad the condition of the car, it is quite rusty but retains its essence. It was like a trip back in time to the United States Golden Age.

Hoy os traigo un post muy especial. En nuestra ruta por Bordeaux, hicimos varias paradas, una de ellas en éste McDonald’s tan chulo, y es que es una réplica exacta del primer McDonald’s que se abrió en Estados Unidos. Además de su peculiar decoración muy años 50, en el exterior hay un surtidor de gasolina original de USA y un precioso Cadillac El Dorado, del 58. Su peculiaridad es que es de color rosa, en honor al Cadillac rosa de Elvis Presley. Le encantaban éstos coches y decidió pintarlo de rosa. Lástima del estado del coche, está bastante oxidado y dejado, pero mantiene su esencia. Ha sido como un viaje en el tiempo hacia la edad de oro de los Estados Unidos. Hello beauties!

Today I show the second post of Bordeaux. I still have some for show you and I have the another surprise. We have focused more on the city, squares, streets and city’s architecture. As you see, it has not changed in hundreds of years, it seems you go back until the eighteenth century. The most modern area is across the Garonne, the river that divides the city and reaches Toulouse, as you saw in old post. The weather didn’t help, although it was not too cold, rained pretty and windy. Another city on my list of “coups de coeur” where I’ll go back return to wander the streets. Hope you like the city, photos and outfit.

Hoy os muestro el segundo post de las fotos de Bordeaux. Aún me quedan algunas por mostraros y tengo alguna que otra sopresa. Nos hemos enfocado más en la ciudad, en las plazas, las calles y la arquitectura de la ciudad. Como veréis, no ha cambiado en cientos de años, parece que retrocedas hasta el siglo XVIII. La zona más moderna está al otro lado de la Garonne, rio que divide la ciudad y llega hasta Toulouse, como visteis en antiguos post. El tiempo no ayudaba demasiado, aunque no hacía demasiado frío, llovió bastante y hacía viento. Otra ciudad en mis lista de “coups de coeur” a la cual volveré para pasear por sus calles. Espero que os guste la ciudad, las fotos y el outfit.
